KUMUD began when a friend shared a few bag designs with us. We entrusted the work to women in the local community, providing opportunities for those seeking employment instead of turning to commercial tailors. That first step laid the foundation for a social enterprise built on empowerment, creativity, and purpose.
At the heart of KUMUD is a commitment to women from financially challenged backgrounds. Many of them own simple sewing machines at home but lack opportunities. We provide them with training, guidance, and encouragement enabling them to earn a livelihood with dignity while working from home. Each bag they create is truly stitched with strength, carried with pride.
Our work extends beyond women. We collaborate with individuals who are differently abled, unemployed, or lacking basic skills offering them a chance to contribute, learn, and grow. By creating a supportive ecosystem, we open doors where few exist.
Every stitch at KUMUD is woven with love, trust, mutual respect, and ethical conduct. We believe business can be a force for good creating value not just for customers, but for communities.
A TRIBUTE TO MY MOTHER
KUMUD is, above all, a living tribute to my mother, a woman whose love, resilience, and values continue to guide every step of this journey. Everything we create is rooted in the lessons I inherited from her: strength, compassion, and the belief in giving back. KUMUD carries forward her legacy with every bag, every artisan, and every story of empowerment.
