About Kumud
Our Story
Kumud was born from a simple belief that a handbag can carry more than just your essentials. It can carry hope, opportunity, and the power to change a life.
When we looked around us, we saw countless women with extraordinary talent and determination, yet limited opportunities to earn a stable income. Many had the skill to create beautiful handcrafted products but lacked access to meaningful work and fair wages. We knew there had to be a better way.
So we created Kumud.
Every bag we design is handcrafted by women from financially disadvantaged backgrounds who are given not just employment, but the dignity of earning, growing, and supporting their families. For us, this has never been about charity.
It is about creating opportunity, celebrating craftsmanship, and building a future where talent is valued regardless of circumstance.
Our designs are thoughtfully created to be timeless, functional, and elegant pieces you’ll reach for every day. But what truly makes a Kumud bag special is the story woven into every stitch. Behind each one is a woman whose dedication, resilience, and skill have brought it to life.
When you choose Kumud, you become part of that story.
Your purchase does more than support a small business. It helps create livelihoods, strengthens families, and encourages women to dream bigger for themselves and the generations that follow.
This is the heart of Kumud: a brand where beautiful craftsmanship meets meaningful impact, proving that fashion can do more than make a statement—it can make a difference.
Thank you for carrying our story with you.
